Bean Burger Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
½ cup sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds or walnuts
1 cup white, red, pink or garbanzo beans
(soaked overnight, drained and cooked in new water; can save cooking water as the base for soup)
½ to 1 cup onion chopped coarsely
½ tsp. chili powder (optional)
2 tbsp. natural, high quality ketchup or 1 tomato, a touch of honey, salt and lemon
1 tbsp. wheat germ or wheat bran or oatmeal

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.
Chop the sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds (rich in omega-3 like walnuts) or walnuts in a food processor or hand chop finely and put in the big bowl.
Mash the beans in the food processor and mix with the seeds in the bowl.
Process onions and add to the bowl, mix.
Process tomato, honey, salt and lemon in the food processor if not using the ketchup and add to the bowl and mix.
Add all the remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix thoroughly and form patties.
Oil the baking sheet with olive oil and lay out the patties.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven and turn over. Then cook for another 15 minutes.

ENJOY!
